Port Hope’s COOPER KELLAR signs with the Cougars!

The Cougars are adding another past AP to their roster for the upcoming season. Port Hope native, Cooper Kellar will be joining the backend of the Cougars line-up for the upcoming season. The 2005 defensemen is no stranger to the Cougars having been an AP last season and playing 10 games across the regular season and playoffs. Kellar spent his 2022-23 regular season playing for the Quinte Red Devils U18 AAA team for 33 games and coming out with 11 points for the season.

“Kellar distributes the puck very well and has some deception on the blue line and when escaping pressure” said Adam Holzmann Assistant GM and Director of Scouting for the Cougars. “He is a strong, gritty player that will make going to corners tough for opposing teams.  We look forward to seeing his growth in his rookie season.”

“I am honoured to be part of The Cobourg Cougars Organization. It is an amazing opportunity for me to be playing the next level of hockey, and representing such a great team from our wonderful community. I’m excited for the upcoming season, and look forward to our home games especially, where I appreciate that my family and friends that live locally will be able to come out to support me and my teammates by cheering us on – I have always loved hometown hockey.” said Kellar

Welcome to the Cougars Cooper!
