The Cobourg Cougars are excited to share the signing of 2006 winger Beckett Ewart. This is the third local player announced that will be added to the roster for this upcoming season. Ewart spent 4 games in the 2022-23 season as an AP for Cobourg while playing for the U18 AAA Oshawa Generals team securing 42 points in 34 games. His team finished the year by taking home the #RedHats Cobourg OMHA U18 AAA Championship.
“Ewart’s ceiling has never been higher for a player entering junior hockey” said Adam Holzmann Assistant GM and Director of Scouting for the Cougars. “He is elite offensively, and he can grind out shifts against top-six opponents and brings reliable detail in the defensive zone. We are excited to add him into the line-up and it’s a bonus that he is from Cobourg and gets to play in front of a home crowd.”
“I am excited to be joining the team in Cobourg this year. As Cobourg is my hometown, I grew up watching the Cougars. I had a great experience being an AP during the season. I am thrilled to officially sign as a Cougar” said Ewart.
